Chinese scroll by Mao Zedong (1893-1976) #1721

This Chinese poem was written by Mao Zedong (1893〜1976) who was a Chinese communist leader/dictator. The translation is as follows:

"People becomes old year by year, but heaven never be old.

The season of "chouyou festival" is coming again this year.

Now I'm in a battlefield, so I celebrate the festival here in the battlefield, feeling the fresh scent of chrysanthemum flowers.

Spring has gone, and once-a-year strong wind changes the season to autumn completely, the scenery is comparable to spring in its beauty.

The sky and the Yangtze River goes together sadly to the end of the world.

I see the grounds covered with frost which is spread out everywhere."
